DSCF2203G’day how’s it rocking? All’s been a bit quiet on the Up Your Jumper! front. That’s because I’ve taken a bit of break, and am currently in the midst of riding from Melbourne to Sydney, on a large, yellow tandem recumbent. Why? Well it’s to coincide with Powershift. I’ve mentioned it before, but for those of you have missed it, Powershift is a massive youth climate summit, happening in Sydney, from the 11/7-13/7. It’s going to be held at University of Western Sydney, and is being organised by the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (which consists of about 20 youth organisations from around Australia). So it’s going to be pretty massive.

There’s speakers, bands, workshops, and all sorts of good stuff happening as part of it. If your keen and can get to Sydney, there’s still time to register and get into it. Suss out the Powershift site for details.

I’m planning to post updates on how the ride is progressing, who we’re meeting and what’s happening, along the way. So stay tuned….

DSCF9017_2G’day g’day, just came across this site, from the Powerhouse Museum. You can work out what your ecological footprint is. For how I was living last year I would need 4ha to support my way of living. See how much space it takes to support your lifestyle

DSCF9949G’day g’day, #7 is where Up Your Jumper is at, and where you are at this very moment.

About to jump right in. In this episode, your up for an interview with Roseanne, Director of City Farm. City Farm, is just that, a centre for environmental education for young people and the community at large. Rejuvenated from a former scrap metal yard into a community hub, City Farm, has evolved from it’s environmental roots to weave in community arts, music and all sorts of tangents of Perth society, within the site. City Farm is also the site for Perth’s first organic/biodynamic market.

Suss it out

DSCF9823How we rocking? Well this interviewing, talking, thinking about sustainability, design, life, it’s gets tiring at times. A good way to get it all up and rocking along again I’ve found is to do a bit of cooking, or have a bit of fish… and just in time for the weekend too.

I’ve uploaded the first(of maybe more) Up Your Jumper! DIY episode. How to make a fishing float!  Check it out. Some pretty deep insights in that nutshell.

Also if your hungry, check out Recipes from the Road. I’ve put up a couple more recipes to give you some ideas in the kitchen. Bok Choy Chicken, and a recipe for how to cook up a few Black Bream, direct from the Swan River, Perth.

All adds to the Up Your Jumper! mix.
